Inside the center, the biggest attraction ins a 50,000-gallon aquarium filled with fish native to Virginia. Other exhibits include demonstrations of animal habitats and activities that help children learn about the world around them. Outside the building, short nature walks offer views of land, water and sky and the species that use all of them for finding food, shelter and safety. Throughout the year there are many special events for both children and families that offer even deeper looks into different ecological systems and human interactions with nature.
